What is the importance of good bed hygiene?
Every person loses between a quarter to half a liter of moisture per night. This occurs partly through breathing and about 60% through the skin (perspiration). Therefore, if you do nothing or cannot do anything against the presence of skin flakes and salt crystals, you are no longer alone or with just two people in bed, but you quickly find yourself surrounded by millions of "friends" in bed. You are then surrounded by countless, invisible dust mites. Like many living things, dust mites excrete waste, even in your bed. Many people who have a dust mite allergy are actually allergic to these dust mite droppings.
With a waterbed, you can remove and wash all textiles in the washing machine. Washing the mattress protector at 60 degrees Celsius will eliminate all dust mites, leaving your mattress protector clean, fresh, and as good as new. In contrast to other sleep systems, the remaining skin flakes and salt crystals on the vinyl of the water mattress are visible and can be easily removed with the included vinyl cleaner. Your water mattress will then be as good as new. You can clean the waterbed as often as you want or as needed.
