HEATING ELEMENTS

The water in a waterbed is kept at temperature by a heating element. This temperature is usually adjustable from 25 degrees to 35 degrees. There is no right or wrong temperature choice within this range. Setting the temperature lower than 25 degrees is strongly discouraged because it can lead to condensation forming on the water mattress, which could result in mold growth in the waterbed. Much warmer than 35 degrees is generally not comfortable for anyone. That's why most heating elements for waterbeds have a temperature range of 25 to 35 degrees.

A waterbed feels comfortable in terms of temperature. A commonly set temperature is 27 degrees, which is often close to your own skin temperature. When you get into bed, the temperature is skin-neutral, and the mattress does not need to be warmed up with your body temperature, as is the case with many conventional mattresses. In the summer, when the skin temperature is slightly higher, the bed feels pleasantly cool, while in the winter, when the skin temperature is lower, the bed feels comfortable. When you get into a waterbed, you're always welcomed with a pleasant temperature.

HEATING COSTS MONEY!

That's true, but probably less than you think. Depending on how you manage your waterbed, the costs of heating a waterbed will vary. On average, a waterbed consumes between €75 and €200 per year. How much you'll spend on electricity for your waterbed depends on several factors. Do you have a large or small waterbed? Do you have one large mattress or two separate mattresses in your waterbed? What temperature do you set it to? Do you cover your waterbed after airing it out or not? And what is the temperature in the bedroom itself? All these factors play a role in determining how much electricity costs you'll incur with a waterbed.

Roughly speaking, you can expect that the fantastic comfort that a waterbed can offer will cost you about 35 cents per night.

IS SLEEPING ON ELECTRICITY DANGEROUS?

No! You sleep absolutely safely. The technology of all our heating elements has been extensively tested and approved by the appropriate authorities. There are various types of heating elements. For people who have problems with the electromagnetic fields around them, we even have elements that are completely free of electromagnetic radiation during use. For everyone else who tolerates their mobile phone near the bed, our standard heating elements are sufficient. The setting of the elements can be done both analogously and digitally. This does not change the functionality of the heating element itself.

There are also choices available in the heating technology. There are heating mats that use Carbon material, and there are also elements that use ceramic technology. The differences between these, and which choice is best for you, can be explained by one of our dealers during a visit to their showroom.
